Segno - My First Twenty is a book describing studio Segno’s first twenty years. The author, Leonardo Messeri, accompanies us by narrating the highlights of the company’s activity: a set of experiences that have a common denominator in a passion for graphics and image research.

Segno - My First Twenty by Leonardo Messeri, with the texts by Giuliano Doccioli and Gianluca Tenti, has been printed in a limited edition of 100 numbered copies with six different FSC-certified papers.

I took an image, a graphic composition, which has always accompanied me and represents my studio’s skills. I fragmented it, distributing a piece onto the spine of each cover so that the image can only be admired in its entirety when each volume is next to the other.It is not a new concept, but it is unique.

No volume may be replaced by a copy, and non may take the place of another. This was possible thanks to new digital printing technology, which presently compares to the quality and finish of traditional offset printing while allowing for limited edition prints (100 limited edition copies: 50 Italian / 50 English) such as MFT, even using special inks like white or Pantone fluorescent fuchsia.

To make the whole project even more special, I chose six different ecological papers for the internal pages, added hot stamping and finally, the numbering (from 1 to 100) of each volume.

Fedrigoni Freelife Cento Black 170 gr. (Pag. 205-206) obtained with 100% recycled fibres, printing with HP Indigo 15K HD technology with Premium White Electroink and hot gold foil.

Fedrigoni Arena Eco 50 E.W. Smooth 120 gr. (Pag. 207-268) obtained with 50% of recycled fibres, printing with HP Indigo 15K HD technology with Fluo Pink Electroink.
